Merry Christmas Folks

I have written, erased, and rewritten about 1,000 words attempting to formulate some profound and thoughtful Christmas blog post. For some reason, I just don’t feel at peace with any of it. Perhaps Christmas is just too great for words, or perhaps my excitement about the holidays is keeping me from any clear ideas. Regardless, I wanted to take this time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I know that Christmas looks different for everyone, and for some, it may not be the easiest holiday. I know that amidst the season of everything being merry and bright, there is also a lot of hurt and pain. My prayer is that the love and peace of God would surround you this holiday season. I pray that where presents, or family, or friends, or food may fall short, God would step in to fill that unfulfilled void. As believers, may we never forget to take this time to reflect on the fact that because God loved us immensely, God sent his only son to Earth where he would suffer tremendously, so that we may be with Him eternally. And there is absolutely nothing you can do that will make God love you any more, or any less. Merry Christmas folks.

Here’s a song that has really spoken to me this season. It’s a modern rendition of an old hymn, “Come Thou Long Expected Jesus.” Praise God that his Son has come, that we may “find our rest in thee.”
