Who am I?
Hi! I’m Scottie! I currently live in Knoxville, TN with my wonderful wife JoBeth. I’m fortunate enough to work in student ministry at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. I was born in Oregon, lived in Washington State for a few years, and then have spent the second half of my life in Tennessee, making my way from Clarksville to Chattanooga to Knoxville. I love spending time outside, pretending I am a runner, losing at sports to my wife, reading, writing, coffee, and spending time with people.
What is this whole “blog” thing about?
This blog serves a number of purposes. Selfishly, it is an opportunity to stop, reflect, and articulate what I am currently processing or learning. If nobody ever read this, it would still be valuable to me for that reason. But my hope and prayer is that it would be useful to anyone who happens to wander by. I enjoy writing for the ability it gives me to convey thoughts and ideas, to express emotion, to teach lessons, and to tell stories, all of which I hope to do in my posts. I don’t have all the answers, and I certainly don’t have everything figured out, this blog is simply an open dialogue on life, adventure, faith, or whatever else seems interesting at the time. I hope you’ll join the conversation!
